How To Extend a USB Cable

Universal Serial Bus (USB) it is an industry standard device which is been developed in the mid of 1990s which defines cables, connectors & even communications protocols which is been used in a bus for connection, communication & power supply between computers & electronic devices.

The USB was designed to standardize the connection of computer peripherals, like keyboards, pointing devices, digital cameras, printers, portable media players, disk drives & network adapters to personal computers, both to communicate & to supply electric power. It has become the commonplace on other devices, such as the smartphones, PDAs and even the video game consoles. USB has effectively replaced a variety of earlier interfaces, like serial & parallel ports, as well as  the separate power chargers for the portable devices.

The version histroy of the USB varies from USB 0.7 to USB 3.0. So here we will be discussing how to extend a USB cable?

The best way to overcome the cable length limits on the USB connection that is 3 metres on USB 1.0 &  5 metres on USB 2.0  is that to split the cable by installing a powerful USB hub in the middle of it. But still you cannot go beyond the 3 metres or the 5 metres limit on any one cable. But you can use around 4 hubs to get the distance you want. The powered usb hubs with main adaptor will cost around 15 USD. and that too available at online sellers like Amazon.
