Asus Eee PC X101 & X101H

Asus is the largest manufacture of the Motherboards for computer's,They are also famous for its Netbook's Brand Eee PC.

The Asus recently announced there new Eee pc called X101 and X101H.




Both the Netbooks comes with the some what same price Tag around $200.

The Specification of these netbook's are some what similar. But the difference is in there Dimension,Storage,Weight and Interface .

The  X101 is little thinner than X101H .

X101H on top & X101

X101 Dimension  : 262 x 180 x 17.6 mm (WxDxH)

X101H Dimension : 262 x 180 x 22 mm (WxDxH)

Since the X101 is holding a Solid State drive the Asus managed to reduce the size.

The  X101H Holds more data than X101.

X101 Storage Capacity   :  2.5" SATA 8GB Solid State Drive.

X101H Storage Capacity   :  2.5" SATA 250GB / 320GB HDD

The X101H Comes in two variants one with Meego OS and other with Windows 7 Starter.

The X101H with  Meego OS  holds 250GB ,while the Windows holds the 320GB.

The X101 is preloaded with Meego OS only due to the 8GB space. Since it is using Solid State Drive the X101 is faster in booting & accessing data than X101H.

The X101H is little heavy than X101

X101 Weight  : 0.92 Kilo with  a  3 cell battery pack

X101H weight : 1 Kilo  with a 3 cell battery pack

Since the X101 is holding a Solid State drive and less interface components  the Asus managed to reduce weight 

The  X101H give more interface port's than X101.

X101 :   2 X USB 2.0  ports , 1 X Headphone Jack  &  a Micro SD card reader

X101H :  1 X VGA Connector , 2 X USB 2.0  ports ,  1 x LAN RJ-45 port ,  1 X Headphone Jack & 1 x SD/ SDHC/ MMC card reader

Battery Back up.

The X101 and X101H comes with 3 cell Battery pack

We have tested both the product and we got

X101 with Meego OS : 3 Hours and 30 mins.

X101 with Ubuntu [Linux] : 3 Hours and 10 mins.

X101H with Meego OS :  3 Hours and 21 mins.

X101H with  Ubuntu [Linux] :  2 Hours and 50 mins.

X101H with Windows 7 starter :  4 Hours  25 mins

Our Review

Price Tag is Excellent 

Both of the Netbook's are in a price range of  $200 , The netbooks from the different manufacture with same specification cost more than that.

Battery Backup not happy

But we have not so happy with the back up power.since the netbook with the same specs are available  in  6 cell which give more than 7 Hours of battery life.

Overall looks and performance is Good

Some how Asus managed to reduce the size and weight and the Netbook over appearance is better and give better look.Since it is using the Intel chip and put an option for expanding RAM is good. asus have two storage option and the new Asus express gate os.
